The sound absorbants have a very good isolating and absorbing effect with a density of 100 kg/m3 (6,24 lb / ft3), and are well adapted to the noise frequency and noise level of marine engines (see diagram). They are made of recycled foam, which has a combination of weight and porosity that both insulates and absorbs.
The sound absorbants are sold in sheets of 500 mm x 1000 mm (20 in x 40 in), they are easy to handle both in transport and when mounted. They are available in three thicknesses, 20, 30 and 50 mm, and can easily be cut to shape with a sharp knife. The sheets come in two versions, self-adhesive and nonadhesive.
Fire resistant material
QL Sound Absorbent Panels are approved for installation in boats to be CE marked according to EU Directive 94/25/EC. The material is treated with a fireresistant formula and withstands temperatures up to max. 200°C/390°F.
The material is covered with an oil resistant foil that easily could be cleaned from any oil spray etc.
To achieve the best possible result, it is important that you fit the sheets properly. The joins must be as tight as possible and covered with foil tape to avoid noise leakage or penetration of water, which could be absorbed by the material.
For convenient mountig you can use QL – Sound Insulation Hangers.
